Aurora Cannabis Given Green Light from Polish Ministry of Health to Import Medicinal Cannabis

Aurora Cannabis Inc. (NYSE:ACB)(TSX:ACB) announced that it had been given approval by the Polish Ministry of Health for its inaugural shipment of medicinal cannabis into Poland, on Thursday 25th October, 2018.
In the following days, Aurora Deutschland GmbH will oversee the shipment to a hospital in Warsaw. It is understood to be the only occasion, that a non-government organisation has been given permission in the country to to supply medicinal cannabis.
Chief Global Business Development Officer, Neil Belot said: “Becoming the first company to supply cannabis to Poland is validation of Aurora’s ability to do business in international markets with high barriers to entry. This is an important milestone for patient access in Poland, which will provide options for people seeking alternative medications to help manage symptoms of a wide range of conditions.”
Medicinal cannabis can be prescribed to patients by physicians according to Polish Law. Statutory health insurance, under certain circumstances, will cover the cost of medicinal cannabis; creating a new medicinal market for Aurora.
The operations of Aurora continue to expand, making it one of the world’s largest cannabis companies.
